Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil Review and Giveaway!

I made a lot of food discoveries last year.

2012 was my first full year of living gluten free, and I have been fortunate to discover a lot of options out there. In doing so, I’ve cooked more from scratch and tried more “new” foods in 2012 than I’d ever done before.

Coconut oil was one of my favorite things to try! I’ve enjoyed using it for personal care purposes in addition to cooking, and I love the light coconut taste it lends to so many foods.

The very first thing I did with it was melt it with a little semi-sweet chocolate and drizzle it over air popped popcorn. I was, and still am, SHOCKED at how much more FLAVORFUL this oil is compared to other brands!

Some other things I’ve tried and enjoyed:

I’ve been using TT coconut oils for smoothies, frying, baking, instead of shortening, for our hair, on our skin, and my dh even used it successfully to heal a boil! Love it!

I use coconut oil mainly for cooking, but I also use it to make hair care products for myself and my mother. Coconut oil is great for pomade and hair oil.

I can’t wait to try the chicken fingers recipe.
I’d use this for cooking, skin care, and to make skin care recipes such as balms and body butters.

I use it in cooking, and I’ve also used it to add additional flavor to a coconut curry I make. Thanks for the giveaway!
